Delaware Valley University provides its students with an advantageous Summer College. Through this program, students can retake necessary classes, get ahead in the pursuit of their degree and or lighten their course load for the fall and spring semesters.

To be beneficial for you, DelVal’s courses in our Summer College replicate the same courses you would be able to sign up for during the fall and spring semesters. And students from visiting schools and colleges can easily transfer their credits earned at DelVal’s Summer College to their current institution. Read on to learn about the specifics behind DelVal’s Summer College course offerings.

Liberal Arts Courses
The majority of specific degrees require some sort of liberal arts core curriculum requirement. With Summer College at DelVal, students have the opportunity to work toward limiting the number of liberal arts core courses they have to take during the fall and spring semesters. Summer College at DelVal offers liberal arts courses in areas such as English, literature, writing, psychology and sociology.

The liberal arts courses offered are diverse and contain unique learning opportunities. If you’re a student who’s looking to diversify your education experience, these courses contain refreshing new material that span subjects your major may not be focused on. And best of all, you can take them over the summer without having to interrupt your schedule during the fall and spring semesters.

Math and Sciences Courses
For some students, math and science courses are dreaded yet required for graduation. Whether you need a certain number of credits in biology, chemistry, physics, statistics or other math and science courses to graduate, you can take them during the summer at DelVal. Just like liberal arts courses, you can get these out of the way in the summer, thus freeing up your time during your academic semesters.

Major Courses
With DelVal Summer College, you can get ahead on your major course requirements. DelVal offers summer courses specific to different majors, so you can enroll in a class that has direct implications toward your focus of study. Our program offers major courses in business administration, media and communication, horticulture and much more. By getting some of these classes out of the way in the summer, you can reduce the weight of your course schedule during the fall and spring semesters.

You can see if your major has any available courses through DelVal Summer College by searching through the Delaware Valley College Course Catalog

We’ve designed this to help students stay on top of their educational requirements, provide opportunities to catch up, or get ahead. To do so, we offer a wide variety of courses, so there’s a course you can take advantage of that will benefit you as you pursue your degree.
