Your Guide to DelVal’s Annual Family Day in October
Posted on September 24, 2015 by Delaware Valley University.
At Delaware Valley University, we dedicate one weekend each year to bringing the families of our students back to campus for some much-needed family time. While it’s great for parents and siblings to see how their college student is doing here on the DelVal campus, it’s also an opportunity for students to reconnect with their families.
Family time is important, which leads to DelVal happily welcoming families to campus each year in the fall. This year, the DelVal Annual Family Day will be held on the weekend of October 9, and you can read on for a complete guide of what families and students can do throughout the weekend.
Buying Your Tickets
Tickets for Family Day are $15 per family member, but children under the age of 2 will have free admittance. Your Family Day ticket will include a number of amenities, including a continental breakfast, lunch at the Levin Dining Hall, inflatables, photo booth pictures, a ticket to the homecoming football game and access to the shuttles to Doylestown.
Friday, October 9
Kicking off the DelVal family day with a bang, the first event students can take their families to is the homecoming parade that will loop around campus at 6 pm. Then you can head down to the Robert A. Lipinski Field at James Work Memorial Stadium at 7 pm for free entry to the field hockey game against DeSales University.
Saturday, October 10
The Saturday of Family Day at DelVal is the most eventful one. After you check in for Family Day at 9:30 am in the Student Center lobby and receive your lunch and football game tickets, you can head to the second floor of the Student Center for coffee and conversation with the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty and the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students. Parents will have the opportunity to speak with Dr. Bashar Hanna and Dr. April Vari about the student experience at DelVal.
Families will have plenty of options for activities on the Saturday of Family Day. The shuttles to Doylestown will run back and forth for the entire day, a carnival will be held at the Student Center Quad from 11 am to 3 pm, and lunch at Levin Dining Hall will be served between 11 am and 2 pm.
Families will also have the opportunity to attend multiple DelVal sporting events. If you registered for Family Day, you’ll receive tickets for the 12 pm homecoming football game against Stevenson University at James Work Memorial Stadium. You can also receive free admission to the women’s soccer game against Wilkes University at 5 pm on Robert A. Lipinski Field, and the men’s soccer game against Wilkes at 7 pm following the women’s game.
Family Day at DelVal is sure to be a fulfilling weekend, so be sure that you and all of your relatives that plan on attending know how to buy their Family Day tickets.
