5 Things to Do in Doylestown

Doylestown is a wonderful community full of arts, culture and history. From the vast park system to the charming shops, the town is brimming with activities you’re sure to enjoy. The following places and activities will provide endless hours of fun for you and your friends.

The County Theater

If streaming movies on your laptop is getting old, visit The County Theater. This local theater features indie and classic flicks complete with an old-fashioned candy bar. Tickets and concessions are less expensive than movie theaters showing latest films. The County Theater also features events such as Hollywood Summer Nights where they show classics starring actors such as Audrey Hepburn and James Dean. Doylestown Community Bike and Hike System

After a long day of classes, get some fresh air and take advantage of the 16 miles of trails in Doylestown for biking, walking or running. The town’s trails span vast fields and lush greenery, making for a scenic experience. Bike racks are provided throughout the town so you can make stops along the way. Doylestown Rock Gym Adventure Center

Keeping with the active theme, when was the last time you went rock climbing? Maybe you won’t be scaling mountains in Doylestown, but you can try your hand at indoor rock climbing at Doylestown Rock Gym Adventure Center. The rock gym is open to both beginners and more advanced climbers, and you can climb solo or bring a large group - just make sure you call with reservations. The rock gym is an inexpensive way to challenge yourself, get some exercise, and have a lot of fun. The rock gym is located at 3853 Old Easton Road. Doylestown Famers’ Market

Visit the Doylestown Farmers’ Market for healthy, fresh food at reasonable prices and check out the many local businesses featured there. The market is open every Saturday morning from spring through fall. Some products typically available at the farmers’ market include pesticide-free fruits and vegetables, bread, baked goods and fresh flowers. Michener Art Museum

Visiting a museum is a fun way to learn, and many of them offer programs, exhibits and events. In Doylestown, you can visit the Michener Art Museum. James A. Michener was a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer who supported the arts and dreamed of opening a regional museum. The museum is dedicated to preserving the art and cultural heritage of Bucks County region. Aside from special exhibitions featuring local artists, this museum has an outdoor gallery and sculptures inspired by the region’s landscape. The museum also offers student discounts on admission.
