Aggies Compete At NCAA Mid-East Regionals

WAYNESBURG (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships hosted by Waynesburg College. The Aggies finished 26th out of 41 teams on the women's side while the men placed 34th out of 39 squads.

Freshman Brittany Schwartz, who earned a second team, all-MAC accolade after placing 13th at the conference championship, finished 63rd out of 281 runners with a 6K time of 25:43. Sophomore Sara Brown took 122nd with a time of 26:59 while Rachel Federico (27:42) and Talesha Karish (28:07) finished 157th and 173rd respectively. Katie Lemoncelli rounded out the scoring as her time of 30 minutes, 48 seconds placed her 238th.

On the men's side, freshman Chip Brumbaugh was the top Aggie finisher as he took 153rd out 268 competitors with an 8K time of exactly 30 minutes. Kevin McCoy was 170th with a time of 30 minutes, 23 seconds and James Hammond crossed the finish line in 194th place with a time of 31 minutes, 1 second. Dan Fenstermacher (32:35) and Kevin Weber (33:45) rounded the scoring by finishing 229th and 241st respectively.
