Aggies Compete At MAC Championships
CENTER VALLEY (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's and women's
cross country teams competed at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC)
Championships held at DeSales University. The women placed 11th
out of 14 teams while the men took 12th out of 14 squads.
In the women's competition, the Aggies placed ahead of King's College,
Widener University and Lebanon Valley College. Messiah College won
the title.
Individually, freshman Brittany Schwartz continued her standout
season by placing 13th out of 132 competitors with a 6K race time
of 26 minutes, 33.38 seconds. Sara Brown was 45th with a time of
28 minutes, 13.78 seconds while Talesha Karish was 80th with a time
of 29 minutes, 51.60 seconds. Katie Lemoncelli (30:05.17) and Amanda
Barr (34:12.72) rounded out the scoring by placing 80th and 114th
respectively.
On the men's side, Delaware Valley placed ahead of Drew University
and Lycoming College with Elizabethtown College taking top honors.
Freshman Chip Brumbaugh was the top Aggie finisher as his 8K race
time of 30 minutes, 31.79 seconds was good enough for 57th place
out of 140 runners. Kevin McCoy (31:07.65), James Hammond (31:09.79)
and Kevin Weber (31:19.90) followed each other in 74th, 75th and
76th place while Dan Fenstermacher (33:41.33) ended the scoring
by finishing 100th.
