Aggies Compete At Husky Invitational

BLOOMSBURG (PA) -- The Delaware Valley College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Bloomsburg University Husky Invitational on Saturday. The Aggie women finished eighth out of 10 teams while the men took seventh out of seven squads.

The Delaware Valley women notched a score of 196 to top Villa Julie College (244) and Lebanon Valley College (247). Bloomsburg won the team title with 34 points.

Individually, freshman Brittany Schwartz placed 20th out of 97 runners with a time of 25 minutes, 28 seconds. Fellow rookie Talesha Karish finished 40th (27:05.90) while sophomore Sara Brown was 46th with a time 27 minutes, 19 seconds. Rachel Federico (54th - 27:42) and Jennifer DelPolito (64th - 28:54) rounded out the Aggie scorers.

On the men's side, Shippensburg University captured the team title with 32 points while the Aggies had 199. Freshman Charles Brumbaugh crossed the finish line in 36th place out of 72 competitors with a time of 29 minutes, 29 seconds. Fellow rookies James Hammond (30:16) and Kevin McCoy (31:00.50) placed 49th and 61st respectively while sophomores Kevin Weber (65th - 31:58) and Dan Fenstermacher (70th - 35:49) rounded out the scoring.
