Aggies Compete At Gwynedd-Mercy Invitational

GWYNEDD VALLEY (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the rain at the Gwynedd-Mercy College Invitational. The women placed second out of four teams while the men did not have enough runners to place in the team standings.

Delaware Valley racked up 60 points to finish ahead of Immaculata University (70 points) and Alvernia College (74 points). Gwynedd-Mercy won the event with 20 points.

Freshmen Sara Brown and Jennifer Del Polito each had top 10 showings at the invitational. Brown finished in fifth place with a time of 24 minutes, 7.62 seconds. Del Polito crossed the finish line one spot later with a time of 24 minutes, 18.83 seconds. Rachel Federico took 15th with a time of 27 minutes, 37.77 seconds while Jennifer Meyers (29:11.96) and Courtney Stern (30:44.62) placed 19th and 20th respectively.

On the men's side, freshmen Josh Means, Kevin Weber and Dan Fenstermacher competed at the event. Means placed seventh with a time of 32 minutes, 8.66 seconds. Weber had a top 10 showing as his time of 33 minute, 1.77 seconds was good enough for ninth place. Fenstermacher took 11th as he was clocked at 34 minutes, 42.95 seconds.
