Aggies Compete At Gwynedd-Mercy Invitational

GWYNNED-VALLEY (PA) - Freshman Brittany Schwartz took top honors on the women's side as Delaware Valley College competed at the Gwynedd-Mercy Invitational. The women placed second out of six teams while the men finished third out of seven squads.

The Aggie women scored 47 points to trail only Gwynedd-Mercy, which had 38 points. The men's side saw Gwynedd-Mercy and King's tie for top honors with 39 while the Aggies were next with a score of 64.

Schwartz led all 45 female runners in the 5K race with a time of 21 minutes, 16 seconds. Sara Brown (22:17) and Rachel Federico (22:18) crossed the finish line fifth and sixth respectively.

Freshman Chip Brumbaugh was the top male finisher for Delaware Valley as his time of 30 minutes, 23 seconds was good enough for sixth place. James Hammond (30:58) was ninth while Kevin Weber (31:19) placed 10th.
