MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY - Aggies Compete At MAC Championships

CHESTER (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Saturday at Widener University. The women placed 11th out of 15 teams while the men did not have enough runners to qualify in the team standings.

The Aggie women totaled 333 points to top King's (345), Drew (359), Lycoming (364) and FDU-Florham (410). Elizabethtown won the title with 46 points.

Seniors Marianne Petrino and Mary Wheatley had strong showings in their final conference championship. Petrino placed 40th with a time of 26 minutes, 1 second while Wheatley was six spots behind with a time of time of 26 minutes, 14 seconds. Colleen Volkman (104th - 30:22), Jennifer Houghton (110th - 32:25) and Melissa McKenna (113th - 32:53) also competed for Delaware Valley.

Freshman Michael Carracciolo was the lone Aggie male runner at the MAC Championships and he placed 99th out of 127 competitors with a time of 32 minutes, 1 second. Elizabethtown also won the men's crown by 25 points over Widener (33 to 58).
