- Women Go 3-0, Men Are Non-Counters
DOYLESTOWN (PA) - The Delaware Valley women's and men's cross country
teams opened its 2002 seasons by hosting a quad meet. The women
picked up three victories on the day while the men did not have
enough runners to score as a team.
The Aggie women scored 36 points to top University of Sciences (49),
Cedar Crest (53) and Philadelphia Biblical. Erin Redding and Mary
Wheatley finished in third and fourth respectively with times of
23:31 and 24:06. Erin Baker (25:47) and Marianne Petrino (25:52)
took eighth and ninth while Laura McKendrick completed the scoring
by placing 12th with a time of 27:03.
The men's side saw Wilmington College finish with 24 points followed
by Philadelphia Biblical (45) and University of Sciences (51). Delaware
Valley only had four runners in the meet.
Andy Hannah's time of 32:10 was good enough for third place. Nick
Fritz was next with a time of 33:54. Andrew Gardner (12th - 37:05)
and Mark Schmidt (13th - 37:28) also competed for the Aggies.
