No. 4 Delaware Valley College 42, McDaniel College 6

WESTMINSTER (MD) - Delaware Valley College won the first nine weight classes, including four by technical fall, as the fourth-ranked Aggies posted a 42-6 road victory over McDaniel College in a non-conference match.

The win improved Delaware Valley to 7-4 in dual meets while the Green Terror fell to 3-7 on the season

The match began at 184 pounds where Michael Wilcox, ranked second in Division III in his weight class, ran his record to 15-2 on the year as he notched a 20-4 technical fall victory over Ryan Deiter.

Fellow ranked wrestlers Joe West (197), Kyle Bilquist (heavyweight) and Chris Sheetz (125) combined for 13 points to up the Aggie lead to 18-0. West, ranked ninth, improved to 17-6 on the year with a 17-4 major decision over Ferris Bond. Bilquist, ranked second, won his 18th match in 19 tries thanks to a 5-3 decision over Brock Glotfelty. Sheetz, who just entered the national rankings at 10th in his weight class, was awarded a forfeit for his team-best 22nd win (22-5).

Brandon Clemmer and Eric McCann followed with back-to-back technical falls at 133 and 141 pounds respectively for a 28-0 lead. Clemmer blanked C.J. Naper, 17-0, to up his mark to 14-6 while McCann posted an 18-2 victory over Tom Boehm to improve to 19-9 on the year.

Jesse Harrington (18-4) won by forfeit at 149 where he is ranked sixth in Division III. Two-time national qualifier Ryan Herwig (14-7) needed just one period to record an 18-2 technical fall victory over Matt Peters at 157 pounds, while Greg Miele (11-7) made it 42-0 with a 6-2 decision over Cory Beall at 165. McDaniel's Courtney Nightengale received a forfeit victory at 174 pounds to end the match.

Delaware Valley will host a pair of nationally-ranked teams next week as No. 23 Messiah College comes to Doylestown on Wednesday, January 23 (7:00 p.m.) followed by No. 27 Wilkes University on Friday, January 25 (7:00 p.m.).
