GARDEN CITY (NY) - The Delaware Valley College wrestling team, ranked fifth in Division III, ended the 2006 portion of its schedule by winning two of three matches at Nassau Community College.

The Aggies opened with a 24-13 victory over Nassau, but followed with a 25-12 loss to 15th-ranked Johnson & Wales University. Delaware Valley then ended the afternoon with a 41-9 triumph over Gloucester County College to improve its record to 6-1 in dual meets (matches against two-year institutions now count towards a school's win-loss record if it listed as part of the school's total schedule)

Nationally-ranked wrestlers Ricky LaForge (141), Jaryd Steinbacher (149) and Kyle Bilquist (Hwt) each went a perfect 3-0 on the afternoon. LaForge, ranked fourth in his weight class, had a pin and two decisions to up his mark to 14-1 on the year.

Steinbacher, listed eighth in his weight class, had a major decision and two decisions as the sophomore moved his record to 17-3. Bilquist is eighth in his weight class and he solidified that ranking by notching a pin and two decisions to raise his record to a team-best 22-2.

Kevin Orr had perfect afternoon as well as the 197-pound sophomore notched victories against Nassau and Johnson & Wales. Paul Donnell earned a pin at 174 pounds against Nassau while Justin Shorts (133), Greg Miele (174) and Joe West (184) pinned their opponents against Gloucester.
