JOHNSTOWN (PA) - The Delaware Valley College wrestling team, ranked eighth in Division III, competed up a level and defeated three, Division II squads, including the No. 15 team in the country, at the East Coast Duals held at The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

The Aggies opened with a 24-12 victory over nationally-ranked West Liberty State College and followed with a 22-16 victory over Shippensburg University. They then capped a perfect tournament with a 39-9 rout of University of North Carolina-Pembroke to improve to 13-2 in dual meets.

Delaware Valley should move up in the rankings when the next Division III poll is released next week. The Aggies have won seven of eight matches since the last poll, including the three wins over Division II squads and victories over the fourth, sixth, 12th and 21st-ranked teams in Division III.

Sophomores Paul Donnell (174), Kevin Orr (197) and Kyle Bilquist (Hwt) each went a perfect 3-0 at the East Coast Duals. Donnell did so in grand style as he pinned all three of his opponents to improve his mark to 21-9 (eight pins) on the season. He opened the duals by dropping Jamie Bolen of West Liberty State in 3:58 and then pinned Rick Mascino of Shippensburg 34 seconds into the third period (5:34). Donnell then needed just 89 seconds to pin Aaron Lynch of North Carolina-Pembroke.

Orr upped his record to 20-6 with the trio of victories. He earned a 4-3 decision over Chris Taylor in the West Liberty State and then picked up a clutch 5-1 victory over Pete Grodziak of Shippensburg. That match was tied at 16-16 heading into Orr's weight class and his victory gave the Aggies the lead for good. Orr capped the weekend by pinning Lenis Frazier of North Carolina-Pembroke in 2:09.

Bilquist, ranked eighth in Division III, won his first match by injury default and then clinched the team's win over Shippensburg by edging Jason Groller, 5-4. It was the fourth time in the last five Delaware Valley victories that Bilquist sealed the match with a win. Bilquist ended Saturday by pinning Scott Metcalf of North Carolina-Pembroke in just 93 seconds. Bilquist is now 31-4 on the season, including 14 pins.

Nationally-ranked wrestler Ricky LaForge (fourth at 141) won two matches as did Josh Proctor (125) and Billy Woodward (157).
