No. 3 Delaware Valley 55, Elizabethtown College 0

DOYLESTOWN (PA) -- The five seniors on the Delaware Valley College wrestling team went out in style in the final home match of their careers as the group helped lead the third-ranked Aggies to a 55-0 shutout of Elizabethtown College in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) match.

Delaware Valley improved to 9-3 in dual meets (2-0 MAC), including a 5-1 mark against Division III opponents. The Blue Jays fell to 0-9.

Mike Weston (125), Barry Wise (133), Tom Becker (141), Jason Shivak (174) and Andrew Helms (197) have helped the Aggies win three straight conference titles and are looking to become the first class to capture four in a row. They have combined for 330 individual victories, six MAC individual crowns and four All-American accolades during their career with the Aggies.

Weston, ranked sixth in Division III in his weight class, opened the match pinning Peter Achilles in just 65 seconds for his 10th win of the season (10-3) and the 48th of his career.

Wise, a two-time All-American and ranked second nationally this season, moved to within three victories of the 100-win plateau as he earned a 10-2 major decision over Justin Martin. He is 12-5 on the year.

Becker notched the 10th win of his Delaware Valley career and improved to 7-9 on the season as he led 9-2 before pinning Eric Kelley with 1:18 remaining in the third period (5:42).

Shivak upped his record to 12-5 on the year and 95-26 in his career as the three-time defending MAC champion and 2004 All-American dropped Jason Bell just 95 seconds into their match. Shivak is ranked seventh in Division III in his weight class.

Helms picked up a forfeit victory on Thursday night for his team-best 20th win of the season (20-4) and the 80th of his Aggie career. Helms, ranked fifth nationally, is a two-time defending conference champion and earned All-American honors last season.

Rick Frondorf (149), John Powell (157), Ryan Pope (165), Jamall Johnson (197) and Mike Moore (heavyweight) also notched victories for Delaware Valley. Frondorf upped his mark to 10-5 with an 18-2 technical fall victory over Rob Bozart. Powell evened his record at 12-12 with a 14-0 blanking of Kyle Hart, while Pope (10-4) and Johnson (18-6, ranked third nationally) were awarded forfeit victories. Moore ended the match by pinning Paul Mazzei in just 22 seconds to improve to 12-7 on the year.
