Wrestling - 2004-05 Season
Head
coach Brandon Totten and the Aggies finished the memorable 2004-05
season with a 14-5 overall record and a 6-1 mark in the Middle Atlantic
Conference (MAC). The team then easily won the MAC Championship
for the fourth consecutive year (13th overall title) and finished
in seventh place at the NCAA Division III Championships.
Delaware Valley crowned three All-Americans at the NCAA Championships,
including junior Jamall Johnson. Johnson finished as the 197-pound national runner-up
(losing to a two-time champion in the finals) as he notched a 26-10 record on
the season. Freshman Rick Frondorf (149 pounds) and senior Jason Shivak
(174 pounds) also earned All-American accolades as they placed fifth and eighth
respectively in their weight classes. Frondorf won four of six matches at nationals
and finished the year with a 22-7 mark. Shivak, a four-time MAC champion and two-time
All-Ameican, went 20-7 on the season and 103-28 for his career. Senior Barry
Wise (133 pounds), sophomore Dan Hall (141 pounds) and senior Andrew Helms (197
pounds) also qualified for the NCAAs after capturing MAC crowns. Totten picked
up his third straight MAC Coach of the Year honor while Shivak and Wise shared
the MAC Outstanding Wrestler Award. Frondorf was named the conference's Rookie
