STATEN ISLAND (NY) -- The Delaware Valley College wrestling team, ranked ninth in Division III, concluded its regular season by splitting a pair of matches with Division I opponents Boston University and Wagner College. The Aggies dropped a narrow 18-15 decision to Boston University, but came back to notch a 39-12 victory over host Wagner.

Delaware Valley ends its dual meet schedule with a 16-6 record with three of its losses coming against Division I or II programs. The team will now spend the next two weeks preparing for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships (February 20 and 21 at The University of Scranton) as they look for their third consecutive title.

Nationally-ranked wrestlers Barry Wise (fourth at 133 pounds), Jason Shivak (sixth at 174 pounds), Josh Housekeeper (fourth at 184 pounds) and Andrew Helms (fifth at 197 pounds) picked up 13 of the team's points against Boston.

Wise earned a 12-4 major decision over Mike Galorenzo while Shivak had a 5-3 victory over Ben Schilens. Housekeeper followed with an 8-5 triumph over Tom Sforza and Helms notched a 5-3 decision over Brett Scholnick. Dave Giamoni also grabbed a victory for the Aggies as he earned an 8-3 decision over Chris Coppolo at 141 pounds.

Shivak and Housekeeper were awarded forfeit victories against Wagner as Shivak ended the regular season with a pefect 25-0 mark and Housekeeper improved to 24-7. Helms went to 31-1 as pinned Evan Weber-Junot in 3:54.

Mike Weston (125), Rob Jiminez (149) and Mike Berlanda (165) also pinned their opponents for Delaware Valley. Weston dropped Mike Rooney in 63 seconds while Jiminez defeated Dan Gollin in 4:13. Berlanda needed just 43 seconds to down Vincent Vazzana. The reamining victory was 4-2 decision at heavyweight by Wayne Helms.
