Delaware Valley 47, Albright College 6

READING (PA) -- Delaware Valley College racked up six pins on the evening as the ninth-ranked Aggies downed host Albright College, 47-6, in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC).

Delaware Valley is now 14-5 overall and 6-0 in MAC matches. A victory over Messiah College on Friday, February 6 would give the team a perfect record in the conference for the second consecutive year.

Mike Weston and Barry Wise began the match by pinning their opponents at 125 and 133 pounds respectively. Weston downed Tyler Faux-Dugan in 2:27 while Wise, ranked third in Division III, needed 4:49 to drop Wade Ginter. Following a 17-2 technical fall victory by Dan Hall at 141 pounds, Tom Becker pinned Brandon Cuffee with 31 seconds left in the first period (2:29) of their 149-pin match.

Nationally-ranked wrestlers Jason Shivak (174). Josh Housekeeper (184) and Andrew Helms (197) also added falls against Albright. Shivak, ranked sixth in his weight class, remained unbeaten at 22-0 as he needed just 35 seconds to pin Eric Drew.

Housekeeper, anked fourth in Division III, followed with an 80-second fall over Tariq Edwards. The senior now has 21 wins on the season and can become just the seventh wrestler in Aggie history to record 100 or more wins in a career with a victory against Messiah for Senior Night on Friday.

Helms upped his mark to 28-1 on the year as the fifth-ranked wrestler in his weight class dropped Kyle Good with 40 seconds remainin in the match (6:20). Delaware Valley's remaining victory was a forfeit awarded to senior Jeremy Messinger at 157 pounds.
