Delaware Valley 28, Montclair State University 21

UPPER MONTCLAIR (NJ) -- Jason Shivak's techinal fall victory in the final match of the night lifted eighth-ranked Delaware Valley College past No. 16 Montclair State University, 28-21.

The Aggies held a slim, 23-21lead heading the 165-pound battle. Shivak needed just five minutes to rack up an 18-2 victory over Azat Nougamanov to seal the win for Delaware Valley.

Down 9-0, the Aggies took a 10-9 advantage as Andrew Helms posted a pin at 197 and Kyle Phipps added an 8-0 major decision at heavyweight. Montclair State regained the lead only to see Delaware Valley win at 133 and 141 for a 20-15 advantage. B.J. Wise needed just 80 seconds to pin Gary Mikolay and Jim Mowbray followed with an 11-3 major decision.

Montclair State's Rami Ratel earned a pin at 149 to take a 21-20 lead but the Aggies answered back at 157 pounds as Mike Berlanda picked up a 7-5 decision over Jess Monzo. That set the stage for the 165 battle and Shivak's heroics.
