WILLIAMSPORT (PA) - The Delaware Valley College wrestling showed why its ranked eighth in Division III as the Aggies went 4-0 and dominated the first annual Middle Atlantic Conference North/South Duals at Lycoming College.

Delaware Valley opened the event with a 28-13 victory over No. 18 King's College and followed with a 34-13 rout or No. 14 and archrival Lycoming College. The Aggies then posted a 29-18 triumph over The University of Scranton and defeated Elizabethtown College, 58-0, in a match that was originally scheduled as a separate dual meet on February 13.

In the King's match, Delaware Valley won six of 10 matches, including three by fall. Jeremy Messinger (149) downed John Comidio in 3:11 and Mike Berlanda (157) followed with a pin over Bill Pounds in 2:04. Luke Morris (184) also picked up a pin as he downed Lee Vodofsky with 16 seconds left in the match. B.J. Wise (133) won by major decision while nationally-ranked wrestlers Jason Shivak (ranked fourth at 165 pounds) and Josh Housekeeper (ranked second at 174 pounds) won by decisions.

The Lycoming match followed and the annual meeting is usually not determined until the final weight class. That was not case this season as the Aggies registered six wins, including five pins.

After Mike Weston (125) earned a 72-second pin, Wise picked up the biggest victory of the day as he pinned the number one-ranked wrestler at 133 pins, Mike Waldron, in 3:29. Messinger and Berlanda racked up back-to-back falls and Housekeeper also earned a pin in the match. Shivak added a 9-1 major decision.

Delaware Valley won six of the 10 weight classes, en route to the 11-point triumph over Scranton. Wise added to his day with a 24-9 technical fall victory over Dave Grffith while Shivak and Housekeeper each won to go a perfect 3-0 on the afternoon. Morris won by forfeit, Steve Flavell earned a major decision at 197 pounds and Weston was awarded a forfeit.

The Aggies were awarded four forfeits and two injury defaults in the shutout of Elizabethtown. Wise concluded his 4-0 run by pinning Tom Elicker in 28 seconds while Messinger needed just 37 seconds to down Brian Isaac. Shivak pinned Matt Eder in 3:28 and Scott Hutton added a 17-7 major decision at 141 pounds.
