Aggies Compete At East Stroudsburg University Open

EAST STROUDSBURG (PA) -- Jason Shivak's sixth-place finish highlighted Delaware Valley College's participation at the East Stroudsburg University Open - an event that featured wrestlers from Divisions I, II and III.

Shivak, who is ranked sixth nationally at 174 pounds, wrestled at his normal 165-pound weight class for the first time this year and went 4-2 for the day. He posted 7-2 and 8-0 victories to reach the quarterfinals before dropping an 11-6 decision. That placed Shivak in the consolation bracket where he picked up another two victories to reach the fifth-sixth place match. Shivak was stopped by Jason O'Connor of the University of North Carolina, 8-3.

B.J. Wise went 5-2 with two pins at 141 pounds while Jeremy Messinger was 4-2 at 149 pounds for the Aggies.
