Aggies Snap 31-Match Losing Streak in Conference Play

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Senior Night was one to remember for the Delaware Valley College volleyball team as the Aggies snapped a 31-match Freedom Conference losing streak with a 3-0 victory over visiting Manhattanville College. Game scores were 30-14, 30-19 and 30-19.

The Aggies improved to 9-10 overall and 1-4 in the Freedom - their first conference victory since October 17, 2001 when they posted a 3-2 victory over former conference member The University of Scranton. Manhattanville, a new member of the conference who restarted its volleyball program after a four-year hiatus, fell to 2-14 overall and 0-3 in the Freedom.

Seniors Jackie Holdsworth, Stephanie Knox, Andrea Wolf and Bonnie Zobel led the way in their final home match of their careers. Knox led the quartet with eight kills while Wolf added six kills and three service aces. Wolf now has 192 career aces and is one shy from tying the school record of 193 set by Kelly Orser in the mid 1990s. Holdsworth finished with three kills, eight digs and four aces while Zobel dished out 30 assists.

In addition to the seniors, freshman Ashley Mikulsky had a big night with a match-high 12 kills and 16 digs. Sophomore Danielle Ford added five kills while Kate Klish notched 16 digs.

Jackie Bryan paced the Valiants with five kills and also added seven digs and three blocks. Amanda Nonis had 10 digs while Courtney Soucy handed out six assists.
