ZOBEL NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - For the second year in a row, Delaware Valley College senior setter Bonnie Zobel (Southampton, PA/William Tennent) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine College Division District II Academic All-America Team in a balloting of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Zobel, who was a first-team, all-district honoree last season, earned second-team honors in 2007. She started all 24 matches and ranked second in the Freedom Conference with an average of 7.4 assists per game. Zobel also added 55 kills, 241 digs and 29 service aces as the Aggies posted an 11-13 record.

Zobel is a biology major who holds a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average. Later this year, she will earn a spot on the conference's All-Academic Team for a third straight season.

To be eligible for the Academic All-America Team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in class standing, a starter or significant reserve and maintain a 3.20 or better cumulative grad point average. The College Division District II consists of all non-NCAA Division I college and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
