AGGIES PLACE SECOND AT ALBRIGHT TOURNAMENT
Friday: Delaware Valley 3, Kean Univeristy 2 (29-31, 30-28, 28-30, 30-21, 15-11)
Saturday: Delaware Valley 3, Penn State-Berks 0 (30-17, 30-19, 30-17)
Saturday: Albright College 3, Delaware Valley (30-18, 30-27, 30-23)

READING (PA) - For the second straight season, the Delaware Valley College volleyball team posted a 2-2 record and took second place at the four-team Albright College Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The Aggies are now 6-3 on the season and are just one shy of matching their entire victory total from last year's 7-18 campaign.

Delaware Valley opened the tournament with a 3-2 thriller over Kean University on Friday night and followed with a 3-0 victory on Saturday against Penn State-Berks. Albright College was next and the Lions downed the Aggies 3-0 to stay perfect at the tournament.

Delaware Valley had the second-best record out of pool play so the two met again in the championship and Albright took the title with another 3-0 triumph.

Andrea Held had a strong tournament as the junior notched 44 kills over the matches. In the win over Penn State-Berks, she had 14 kills and no errors in 22 attacks for a .636 hitting percentage. Bonnie Zobel dished out 93 assists in the four matches

In the win over Kean, Delaware Valley rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits. The Aggies also trailed 8-4 in the fifth and deciding game before winning 11 of the last 14 points. Held and Angel Bulger had 14 kills apiece while Zobel (33 assists) and Kate Klish (19 digs) had strong showing as well.

Delaware Valley dominated the match against Penn State-Berks as the team registered 44 kills with only four errors in 88 attempts (.455 hitting percentage). In addition to Held's performance, Nicole Garnder notched eight kills while Zobel recorded 30 assists.

However, Albright had Delaware Valley's numbers in both matches. Held recorded a combined 16 kills over the two matches while Jaki Blood served four aces in the first meeting.
