WILKES-BARRE (PA) -- The Wilkes University volleyball team picked
up their first Freedom Conference win of the season by knocking
off Delaware Valley College, 3-0. Games scores were 30-17, 30-22
and 30-12 in favor of the Lady Colonels.
The win improves the Lady Colonels to 8-12 overall and 1-3 in the
conference, while the Aggies fall to 5-11 overall and 0-3 in conference
play.
Senior Alicia Vieselmeyer enjoyed a record-setting night for Wilkes.
The middle hitter broke the school's career record for kills by
smacking 17 against the Aggies. Vieselmeyer now has 1,106 kills,
breaking the previous record of 1,093 set by Wendy O'Connor from
1992-95.
Stephanie Knox and Andrea Held had four kills apiece for Delaware
Valley. The Aggies also got 13 assists and 13 digs from Bonnie Zobel
and a match-high 16 digs from Jackie Holdsworth.
