Training Welcome to the Delaware Valley College Athletic Training
Department. Important Information:
Mission Statement: The Delaware Valley College Athletic
Training Staff delivers traditional athletic training and sports medicine services
to the student athletes of DVC. The services to be delivered can be broken down
into five areas: injury prevention (screening, taping, bracing, padding), injury
recognition and evaluation, injury management/treatment and disposition (emergency
care, referrals), rehabilitation, and education and counseling.
The purpose of the athletic training staff is fourfold. First,
we desire to allow efficient access to athletic training services
to the student’s athletes. Second, we hope to encourage
a philosophy of sport that places a high value on health and wellness.
Third, we hope to enable injured athletes to return to their sport
as soon as medically safe. Finally, we hope to substantially reduce
the risk of athletic injury the athletes at DVC.
All members of the DVC Athletic
Training Staff engages in the treatment and disposition of student intercollegiate
athletes are fully responsible to the team physician with respect to any and all
matters which involve the health and welfare of the student athlete.
Each student-athlete must receive a physical from his or her
primary physician prior to each season at Delaware Valley College.
They must also provide the Athletic Training Room with a copy of
his or her insurance card (front and back) and a completed Insurance
Verification Form.
(PLEASE NOTE: Due to privacy laws, information cannot be shared
between the Athletic Training Room and the Health Center. Therefore,
copies of each form must be sent separately to both areas)
