Aggies Compete At Muhlenberg Invitational


ALLENTOWN (PA) - Freshman Jennifer Alderfer placed in the top 10 in four separate events to highlight Delaware Valley College's showing at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Saturday. Team scoring was not kept at the meet.

Alderfer's highest finish was sixth out 34 runners in the 200-meter dash as she crossed the line in 27.36 seconds. She also took eighth out of 31 competitors in the long jump (15-1.25), ninth out of 36 in the 100-meter dash (13.39) and 10th out of 21 in the triple jump (30-10.25).

Caitlin Dorgan was the top finisher for the Aggies as she placed fourth of 45 competitors in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 2.60 seconds. The rookie was also 15th out of 46 in the 800-meter run (2:32.44).

On the men's side, sophomore Shane Toohey placed sixth out of 41 throwers in the javelin with a toss of exactly 158 feet. Junior Dan Fenstermacher finished seventh out of 11 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11 minutes, 8.71 seconds.
