Aggies Compete At Muhlenberg Invitational


ALLENTOWN (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's and women's indoor track and field teams returned to action after nearly seven weeks off and competed at the Muhlenberg Indoor Invitational on Friday. Team scoring did not take place at the event.

On the men's side, the Aggies had three top-five finishes including a pair from freshman Jon Petrilak. Petrilak finished third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.96 seconds, and followed it up by placing fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.22 seconds. Sophomore Kery Swope had a strong showing in the 55-meter hurdles as his time of 9.32 seconds was good for fourth place.

Freshman Jennifer Alderfer and junior Becky Heisey had a pair of runner-up showings and each also placed seventh in a second event. Alderfer took second in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 8.50 inches and finished the 200-meter dash in 28.81 seconds. Heisey was second in the shot put with a toss of 35 feet, 3.25 inches. She was also clocked in the 55-meter hurdles at exactly 10 seconds.
