Aggies Compete At Muhlenberg Invitational

ALLENTOWN (PA) -- Beth Alexander's first place finish in the shot put highlighted Delaware Valley College's showing at the Muhlenberg College Invitational.

The Aggie women finished fourth out of five teams with 31 points while the men took fourth out of four squad with 25 points.

Alexander, a freshman competing at her first collegiate event, tossed the shot put 9.41 meters to top her four opponents. Fellow rookie Kelly Harding had a strong performance as well as she took third in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 6 feet, 6 inches. Another freshmen, Megahn Kolb placed in the top eight in both the high jump (6th: 4-4) and the long jump (8th - 4.14 meters).

On the men's side, Craig Vaccarella and Robert Krauss both placed in the top five in the shot put. Vaccarella, a junior, took third with a throw of 12.36 meters. Krauss, a freshman, was right behind in fourth with a throw of 12.23 meters.
