Aggies Compete At Albright College Invitational

READING (PA) - Freshman Kevin Weber took first place in two events, including a school record in the mile run, to highlight Delaware Valley College's participation at the Albright College Invitational on Saturday. Team scoring was not held at the event.

Weber took top honors set a new Aggie standard as he finished the mile run in 4 minutes and 46 seconds. The performance also qualified him for next week's MAC Indoor Championships at Susquehanna University. Weber also beat nine competitors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 10 seconds.

Shawn Aupperlee finished second in both the pole vault and the long jump and will compete in both events at the MAC Championships. He cleared the pole vault at 11 feet and had a jump of 5.97 meters.

Joining Weber and Aupperlee at the MAC Championships will be shot putters Robert Krauss, Mike Sobczak and Craig Vaccarella who previously qualified for the conference tournament.

On the women's side, Jen Houghton outran 11 competitors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 39 seconds. She also qualified for the MAC Championships with her performance, the lone Aggie female to do so.

Kelly Harding (7 feet) and Nicole Stauder (6 feet) took second and third respectively in Saturday's pole vault competition.
