2008 SEASON PREVIEW


The 2008 Delaware Valley College men’s track and field team, under head coach Ed Andrewlevich, has six letterwinners back from a squad that placed 10th at last year’s Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships.

Leading the returnees is sophomore Shane Toohey (Neptune, NJ/Neptune). Toohey was the top Aggie finisher at the 2007 MAC Championships as his time of 52.48 seconds in the 400-meter dash placed him 13th out of 24 competitors. Toohey also qualified in the javelin.

Sophomore Chip Brumbaugh (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) and junior Kevin Weber (Telford, PA/Souderton) round of the returning conference qualifiers. Brumbaugh competed in the 10,000-meter run and placed 14th with a time of 34 minutes, 48.84 seconds. Weber competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the second championship in a row and took 16th with a time of 11 minutes, 4.76 seconds.

Junior Dan Fenstermacher (Grove City, PA/Grove City) and sophomores Kevin Carlock (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) and Kery Swope (Marietta, PA/Elizabethtown) are also back after earning letters a season ago.

Delaware Valley begins its season on Saturday, March 29 as the Aggies travel to Widener University for the Danny Curran Invitational. The Aggies will then be back at Widener for the MAC Championships from May 1 to May 3.
