Wilkes University 6, Delaware Valley College 1 (Game 1)
Delaware Valley College 8, Wilkes University 3 (Game 2)

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - - Kelly Andrews and Brittany Stockert each had a home run and four RBIs in the second game as Delaware Valley College picked up another split of a Freedom Conference doubleheader, this time against Wilkes University. The Lady Colonels took the opener, 6-3, before the Aggies notched an 8-3 triumph.

It was the fourth split in as many conference twinbills for Delaware Valley as it moved its record to 8-14 overall. The 4-4 league mark leaves the Aggies in solo possession of third place with two doubleheaders remaining. Wilkes, the 2007 conference runner-up, is tied with FDU-Florham for the fourth and final playoff spot as the Lady Colonels are 17-11 overall and 4-6 in the Freedom.

Scoreless in the third inning of the nightcap, Andrews came to the plate with two runners on and two outs. The senior took the first pitch and drilled it over the left field fence for her third home run of the season and a 3-0 Aggie lead.

Wilkes came right back in the fourth and got to within one as one run scored on a Delaware Valley error and another crossed the plate on an RBI single Kathy Dalton. Dalton finished 3-for-4 in the game.

However, the Aggies took command in the fifth inning as two hits, a wild pitch and two walks resulted in one run and the bases loaded with nobody out. Stockert then lofted a deep fly ball that just stayed inside the left field foul pole for a grand slam home run and an 8-2 Delaware Valley lead. It was the sophomore's first round-tripper of the season.

Wilkes managed one run in the seventh but Jennifer Bummer finished the deal for her fourth win of the season. She allowed just one earned run and fanned five along the way. Stockert was 2-for-3 while Andrews' homer was her lone hit of the game.

The opener saw Lindsay Behrenshausen improve to 11-4 on the year as the Lady Colonel freshman allowed just one run and five hits while striking out six. Wilkes scored three times off of four straight hits in the third innings including RBI singles by Alex Ingram and Gina Stefanelli and a run-scoring double by Dalton.

Delaware Valley got one run back on an RBI groundout by Robyn Jackson in the fifth inning, but the Lady Colonels put the contest away with three in the top of the seventh. An Aggie error led to the first run and the final two crossed the plate on a double by Melissa Bracone. Bracone finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs while Ingram and Stefanelli were each 2-for-4. Andrews and Maureen Ferguson combined for four of Delaware Valley's five hits in the game.
