Delaware Valley College 17, University of Massachusetts-Boston 3

TUCSON (AZ) - Delaware Valley College concluded its first-ever Spring Break trip to Arizona with a 2-6 record as the Aggies split a pair of games on Tuesday. Delaware Valley dropped a 6-3 decision to the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, but bounced back with a 17-3 rout of University of Massachusetts-Boston in the nightcap.

The Wiscon-LaCrosse game saw the Aggies tie it up a 2-2 as senior third baseman Kelly Andrews connected on a two-run homer in the top of the third. However, the Eagles (9-1) answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning and added two more in the fourth for a 6-2 lead.

Delaware Valley got a final run in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Lauren Fenstermacher. Andrews went 1-for-3 with the home run while Brittany Stockert went 2-for-3. Jennifer Bummer pitched the first three inning and suffered the loss despite giving up just one earned run.

In the Massachusetts-Boston contest, Delaware Valley sent 12 batters to the plate and scored eight runs. Kim Harle had the big blow with a three-run double. The Aggies added three more in the second and two in the third with the last two coming on a home run by sophomore Bethany Pavlik. It was Pavlik's second home run of the season.

Massachusetts-Boston (0-4) scored its three runs in the fourth inning, but the Aggies answered with four in the bottom of the stanza, including the first collegiate home run by senior outfielder Fawn Harmer. The game was called after five innings due to the eight-run rule.

Pavlik finished 3-for-4 with the home run, three runs scored and four RBIs. She also pitched the final three innings - her first on the collegiate level - and was credited with the win. Harle knocked in three runs while Harmer was 1-for-2 with the home run.
