Delaware Valley College 2, Westfield College 1

COCOA BEACH (FL) - Delaware Valley College began an action-packed Tuesday of softball in Florida by holding on for a 2-1 victory over Westefield College.

The Aggies, who will also battle Mayville State University for a doubleheader and Valley City State University for a single game on Tuesday,, improved their record to 3-0 on the season. It wasn't easy as Westfield (2-2) loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh inning. However, Jennifer Bummer got back-to-back strikeouts against Katie Gorman and Adrienne Walker to end the game.

Delaware Valley took a 1-0 lead in the first on a sacrifice fly by Nancy Kauffman which scored Kim Harle. Westfield tied the game in the fourth but the Aggies scored the eventual game-winner in the fifth as Harle knocked in Bethany Pavlik with an RBI single.

Harle went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Bummer won her second game of the year as she went seven innings and allowed just one run and six hits while fanning seven.
