Valley City State University 9, Delaware Valley College 2

COCOA BEACH (FL) - The Delaware Valley College softball team dropped its first game of the season and saw a seven-game winning streak dating back to last year come to an end with a 9-2 setback to Valley City State University (ND).

The Aggies fell to 5-1 on the season while Valley City State ran its record to a perfect 8-0. It was the fourth game of a crazy Tuesday for Delaware Valley as it upended Westfield in the morning and swept a doubleheader from Mayville State in the afternoon.

Down 4-0, the Aggies scored two times in the fifth inning on an RBI double from Lacy Miles and an RBI single by Nicole Dorney. However, Valley City State put the game with five runs in the top of the seventh,

Dorney finished 2-for-4 while Miles was 1-for-2 with an RBI apiece. Jennifer Bummer (2-1) suffered the loss as she allowed nine runs (eight earned) over seven innings.
