Delaware Valley College 12, Regis College 4 (Game 1 - 5 innings)
Delaware Valley College 13, Regis College 1 (Game 2 - 5 innings)

COCOA BEACH (FL) - The Delaware Valley College softball team concluded one of its most successful Spring Break trips in program history as the Aggies swept a doubleheader from Regis College, 12-4 and 13-1, late Thursday. Both games were called in the fifth inning due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Delaware Valley returns from Florida with a 7-1 record, including victories in its first five games. The only setback was a 9-2 loss to undefeated Valley City State University on Tuesday night - the final of four games the Aggies played that day. They outscored their opponents, 53-21, on the trip.

Delaware Valley scored in every inning of the opener against Regis and finished with 11 hits. Kelly Andrews went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs while Nikki Zimmerman was 3-for-3 with a double, one run scored and two RBIs. Kim Harle and Nicole Dorney had two hits apiece with Harle scoring twice and Dorney knocking in a pair of runs. Kirstyn Ruhling improved to 3-0 on the season as the junior allowed just one run and seven hits while striking out five over the five innings.

The second game saw head coach Rich Matarese go with a lineup that consisted of all freshmen with the exception of sophomore Robyn Jackson behind the plate. They responded with 13 runs to complete the doubleheader sweep.

Nancy Kauffman went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI as the center fielder ended her Florida trip with a .529 batting average (9-for-17), five extra-base hits (three doubles, two home runs) and 12 RBIs. Bethany Pavlik smacked her first collegiate home run and Brittany Stockert notched her first collegiate win as she allowed one run in five innings while striking out six.
