The University of Scranton 4, Delaware Valley 1 (Game 1)
Delaware Valley 6, The University of Scranton 3 (Game 2)

SCRANTON (PA) - Delaware Valley College scored three runs over the last two innings in the nightcap as the visiting Aggies split a Freedom Conference doubleheader with The University of Scranton. The Aggies dropped the opener, 4-1, before pulling out a 6-3 triumph in the second game.

The split moved Delaware Valley's record to 11-14 overall and 3-7 in the conference while the Lady Royals saw their record go to 10-12, 1-5.

The Aggies jumped out to a 3-0, first-inning lead in the nightcap thanks to an RBI double by Kelly Andrews and a two-out, two-run single by Kristin Lup. However, Scranton scored single runs in the second, third and fourth stanzas for a 3-3 ballgame.

It stayed that way until the sixth when Christine Yacco doubled and Nikki Zimmerman walked. The two each moved up a base on pinch-hitter Katie Shallcross's sacrifice bunt and Yacco then scored on an RBI single by Kim Harle.

Delaware Valley then scored a pair of insurance runs in the seventh as Andrews reached on an error and came all the way around to score on a double by Nicole Dorney. Later in the inning, Zimmerman singled home Yacco, who reached on a fielder's choice for a 6-3 Aggie advantage.

That was that Stephanie Raziano needed, en route to her third victory of the year. She went the full seven innings and allowed three runs (two earned) and six hits. Lacy Miles went 3-for-4 at the plate while Dorney and Harle were each 2-for-4 with an RBI.

The first game saw Delaware Valley score in the first as Harle opened with a single and later crossed the plate on an RBI single by Robyn Jackson (2-for-3). However, that was it for the Aggies as Isabel Mendez allowed just that one run and six hits over seven innings. The Lady Royals took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth and added single tallies in both the fifth and sixth innings.
