Transylvania University 12, Delaware Valley 3

FORT MEYERS (FL) -- Transylvania University scored 10 runs in the last three innings to overcome a 3-2 deficit and defeat Delaware Valley College, 10-3, in Florida.

The Aggies (1-5) scored an unearned run in the first inning and took a 2-1 advantage in the third as Katie Leach doubled and came around to score on a single by Maureen Ferguson. Transylvania tied the contest in the fourth inning but Delaware Valley came back in the fifth as Leach again doubled and scored on Christine Bowie's RBI single.

However, Transylvania took the lead for good by scoring three times in the bottom of the fifth and put the game away with five runs in the sixth. The team then added two more in the seventh for the 12-3 final.

Leach went 2-for-3 with the two doubles and the two runs scored. Kim Harle went 2-for-4 with a run scored while Michelle Smith suffered the loss.
