DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College and The University of Scranton split its Freedom Conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. The Aggies took the first game, 6-3, before Scranton rallied for a 6-2 victory in the nightcap.

The split moved Delaware Valley's record to 7-12 overall and 1-5 in conference play while the Lady Royals snapped a 15-game losing streak with the win in the nightcap and improved to 3-19, 1-9.

The opener saw freshman Kirstyn Ruhling up her record to 5-4 on the year. She went the full seven innings and allowed just three runs (two earned) on four hits while striking out six.

Scranton touched Ruhling for two runs in the top of the first inning as Michele Segear smacked a single into center to score Mary Beth Vogel and Michelle Bochanski.

The Aggies scored all six of their runs in the bottom of the second, using just one hit, five walks and one Lady Royal error. The lone hit in the stanza was a two-run single into right-center by Katie Leach. Leach went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs in the contest.

Scranton added a run in the seventh as Vogel scored Melanie Carnevale's ground out. Vogel was the lone Lady Royal to have a multiple-hit game as she went 2-for-4.
In the second game, Carolyn King picked up her first win of the season for Scranton as she allowed just two runs and four hits in seven innings. Two of the hits came in the seventh with the Lady Royals holding a 6-1 advantage.

Scranton put two runs across the plate in the first inning, then opened a large lead with four more in the third. Angela Croteau, Emily Nietzel, Vogel and Bochanski had RBI singles in the big stanza.

Delaware Valley notched a tally in the second on a RBI single by Fawn Harmer and added one in the seventh on Stephanie Raziano's RBI triple. Hamrer went 2-for-3 in the game while Raziano pitched the final four innings and allowed no runs on two hits.
