Albright College 8, Delaware Valley 7 (Game 2 - 9 innings)

READING (PA) - Fawn Harmer hit a grand slam home run and finished with five RBIs in the second game, but it wasn't enough as Delaware Valley College was swept by host Albright College in a non-conference doubleheader, 7-0 and 8-7 in nine innings.

The Aggies fell to 12-21 with the losses while the Lions improved their mark to 19-11.

In the nightcap, Delaware Valley scored five runs in the first inning highlighted by Harmer's first collegiate home run. The freshman leftfielder also added a RBI double in the fifth inning as she finished the game 2-for-4.

Harmer's double gave the Aggies a 7-2 lead, but Albright came back with three runs in its half of the inning and then tied the game with two more in the seventh. The game went to the ninth inning where a runner is put on second base to start the stanza. Delaware Valley failed to score in its half of the ninth, but the Lions plated a run on a single for the doubleheader sweep.

In addition to Harmer's big game, Katie Leach went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. Nicole Dorney also scored twice as she went 1-for-3 with a RBI double.

The opener saw Ashley Young limit the Aggies to just three hits while striking out nine. Meanwhile the Albright offense scored two runs in both the second and fourth innings and added three more in the sixth for the shutout.

Leach had two of Delaware Valley's three hits, including a double. Fellow senior Jenn Welsh had the remaining hit.
