Wilkes University 12, Delaware Valley 0

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Wilkes University pitcher Laurie Agresti hurled a one-hit shutout as the Lady Colonels registered a 12-0 Freedom Conference victory over host Delaware Valley College. The game was called after six innings due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Agresti improved to 6-6 on the year as the freshman struck out 11 batters and walked just one. The victory upped Wilkes' record to 10-13 overall and 4-1 in the Freedom Conference while Delaware Valley fell to 6-21, 1-10.

The lone Aggie hit against Agresti was a bunt single by Marlo Jones in the third inning. Meanwhile, the Lady Colonels notched 14 hits and put the game away by scoring five times in the top of the sixth.

Julie Henry went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Katie Orr, Alexis Petite and Shelly Pheiff knocked in two runs apiece while Jan Nunemacher had a three-hit game with two runs scored.
