Delaware Valley 5, Penn State-Altoona 1

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH (SC) -- The Delaware Valley College softball ended its Spring Break trip with a 5-3 record thanks to a 5-1 victory over Penn State-Altoona on Thursday.

Junior Michelle Smith improved to 3-1 on the year as she allowed just one earned run and three hits over the seven innings. Smith also helped her own cause at the plate with a double, a single and three stolen bases.

Delaware Valley scored one run in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead. The team then put the game with two runs in the sixth.
