Moravian College 8, Delaware Valley 0 (Game 2 - 5 innings)

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Moravian College, ranked first in all of Division III, allowed just three hits in two games, including a no-hitter by Meagan Hennessy, as the Greyhounds swept a non-conference doubleheader from host Delaware Valley College, 9-0 and 8-0. Both games were called after five innings due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Moravian has now won 23 consecutive games and is 23-1 on the season while the Aggies fell to 6-20.

Hennessy pitched the opener and improved to 12-0 as she allowed just one baserunner, a second-inning walk to Megan Chapin. Hennessy also notched nine strikeouts, including eight of the last nine batters.

Offensively, Megan Smith paced Moravian with three RBIs, including a two-run single to highlight a five-run fifth inning. Danielle Carrione added two RBIs in the victory.

In the nightcap, the Greyhounds scored four times in the first inning, en route to the 8-0 victory. Donna Weiner improved to 9-1 as she allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out six in five innings.

Heather Bortz and Richelle McWilliams had two hits apiece for Moravian. Combined with her 1-for-3 showing in the first game, Bortz extended her NCAA Division III hitting streak to 41 consecutive games.

Chapin, Marlo Jones and Jenn Welsh notched singles in the second game for Delaware Valley. Chapin pitched both contests.
