Arcadia University 11, Delaware Valley 1 (Game 1 - 5 innings)
Arcadia University 4, Delaware Valley 0 (Game 2)

GLENSIDE (PA) - The Delaware Valley College softball team fell to 5-6 on the season as the Aggies dropped a pair of non-conference game at Arcadia University. Delaware Valley fell 11-1 in the opener (five innings due to eight-run mercy rule), and were blanked 4-0 in the nightcap.

The Knights (5-4) jumped out to a 3-0, first-inning lead in the first game as Maggie Shaeffer connected on a three-run homer. They scored two more times in the third and six in the fourth, including a two-run homer by Laura Fencik.

The Aggies scored their lone run in the top of the fourth inning as Nicole Bodell's fielder's choice brought home Christine Bowie. Bowie went 2-for-3 in the contest. Michelle Smith suffered the loss as she allowed five earned runs in four innings.

The nightcap saw Jenn Compton and Kristen Law combined for a three-hit shutout. The lone Aggie hits were a double by Tammy Banks and singles by Bowie and Lindsay Eversole. Megan Chapin allowed two earned runs in six innings but suffered the loss.

Arcadia opened up with three runs in the first inning and made it a 4-0 contest with a single run in the bottom of the third. Compton went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
