Lycoming College 5, Delaware Valley 1 (Game 1)
Lycoming College 6, Delaware Valley 0 (Game 2)

WILLIAMSPORT (PA) -- The Delaware Valley College softball team ended its 2003 season by losing a pair of Freedom Conference games at Lycoming College, 5-1 and 6-0. The Aggies finished the year 7-19 overall and 0-14 in conference play.

The opening game saw Delaware Valley lose in heartbreaking fashion as Jana Reitz hit a two-out, walk-off grand slam to give Lycoming a come-from-behing victory. The Aggies took a 1-0 in the first as Beth Sander singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Katie Leach and scored on Wendy Strohl's single.

It stayed 1-0 until the bottom of the seventh until the Warriors (20-10-1, 11-3) tied the game on a trio of singles by Miranda Newcomer, Jackie Chestnutt and Jen Shaffer. A pinch-hit single by Christine Warholic then loaded the bases and set the stage for Reitz.

Jennifer Moyer was brilliant for the Aggies all game as she allowed just four hits through the first six innings before the Warriors recorded five hits in the seventh. She finished with four strikeouts. Tammy Banks went 2-for-3 in the contest.

In the nightcap, Lycoming scored three times in the first inning and cruised from their. Morgan Mantle allowed just hits in the game - a fourth inning single by Christine Bowie and a sixth inning single by Katie Leach.

Casey Bidlingmaier and Strohl combined to allow just five hits and no earned runs for the Aggies, who committed four errors in the contest.
