Delaware Valley 9, Gordon College 2

MYRTLE BEACH (SC) -- In just her second collegiate game, freshman shortstop Wedny Strohol went 4-for-4 with a triple and five RBIs as Delaware Vallry College downed Gordon College, 9-2.

The win lifted the Aggies to a 2-0 record for the first time since 1995.

Strohl's performance left her just one hit and one RBI shy of tying the school's single-game record in each category. She had single RBIs in the third and fourth innings and then delivered the big blow in the sixth with a three-run triple. That hit gave the Aggies a commanding 8-2 lead.

Fellow rookie Casey Bidlingmaier also had a bid game as the pitched went the full seven innings and allowed just two runs and two hits with four strikeouts.

Senior first baseman Beth Sander went 3-for-3 with three runs scored while sophomore third baseman Jackie Neil went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
