FDU-Florham 4, Delaware Valley 1 (Game 1)
FDU-Florham 7, Delaware Valley 3 (Game 2)

MADISON (NJ) - The Delaware Valley College softball team fell to 5-9 overall and 0-6 in the Freedom Conference after suffering a pair of losses at FDU-Florham on Sunday. The Aggies dropped a 4-1 decision in the opener, then fell 7-3 in the nightcap.

Delaware Valley's lone run in the first game came in the second inning as Alison Suttie singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Katie Leach and scored on a double by Christine Bowie. That run cut FDU-Florham's lead to 2-1.

However the Devils (7-7, 2-0) scored two times in the bottom of the second for a 4-1 advantage. The Aggies threatened one more time in the game as they loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh, but Wendy Strohl flied out to right field to end the game.

Jennifer Moyer fell to 3-4 on the season as she allowed four earned runs in six innings of work. Suttie and Tammy Bank each went 2-for-3 in the opener.

The nightcap saw Delaware Valley take a 2-0 first inning lead as Strohl reached on an error and later scored on a Beth Sander single. Sander then scored on another Devil error.

However, FDU-Florham scored six runs on five hits in the second inning to take control of the game. The Devils added another run in the fourth to make it a 7-2 ballgame before the Aggies scored once in the top of the seventh. That run came on an RBI single by Leach that scored Sander.

Sander went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI while Suttie had two hits in four at-bats. Casey Bidlingmaier took the loss and fell to 1-4 as the freshman allowed seven earned run and six hits in six innings.
