DeSales University 12, Delaware Valley 2 (Game 2)

DOYLESTOWN (PA) -- DeSales University improved to 13-5 overall and 7-3 in the Freedom Conference as the Bulldogs swept a doubleheader from host Delaware Valley College, 11-0 and 12-2, on Thursday.

Kelly Salmon limited the Aggies (5-15, 0-12 Freedom) to just two hits in the opener. Jackie Neil led off with a double in the first inning and Christine Bowie had a double in the fifth.

Valerie Valuch had a big opener for DeSales as she went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Jenna Rau had two hits, including a home run, and a pair of RBIs.

In the nightcap, Delaware Valley took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning as Katie Leach had a one-out single and came around to score on Lindsay Eversole's triple. Eversole then scored on Rose Paylor ground out.

However, DeSales tied the game with a run in the fifth and took the lead for good with three runs in the sixth. Rachel Polaha delivered the big blow in the sixth with an RBI triple. Polaha then led the Bulldogs' seven-run, seventh-inning with a three-run double. She finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs.

Allison Suttie paced the Aggies with a 3-for-4 afternoon. One of the hits was a double.
