Delaware Valley 5, Concordia College 4

MYRTLE BEACH (SC) -- The Delaware Valley College softball team opened its 2003 season with a 5-4 victory over Division II Concordia College during the Aggies' Spring Break trip to South Carolina.

With the game tied a t 1-1, Delaware Valley scored three times in the fourth inning. Sophomore center fielder Katie Leach began the rally with a triple. She scord on an RBI single by Lindsay Eversole. Alliosn Suttie and Jackie Neil also picked up RBIs in the inning.

Jennifer Moyer picked up the win but not before having to get out of trouble in the seventh inning. She allowed a two-out, three-run homer to make it a 5-4 game, but the sophomore got the final out for the win.

Leach and Eversole each went 2-for-3 in the contest. Neil added two hits in four trips to the plate.
