WOMEN'S SOCCER: Delaware Valley College 3, The University of Scranton 0

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Elise Dauber scored two goals and Cortney Bower stopped 10 shots to earn Delaware Valley College's first shutout over The University of Scranton in the Aggies' 3-0, non-conference win.

Delaware Valley improved its record to 7-9-2 overall and will ends its regular season at home on Saturday, October 27 against Freedom Conference opponent Manhattanville College. Despite being 1-3-1 in conference play, the Aggies are still alive for one of the Freedom's four playoff spots and needs a win on Saturday and some help to reach the postseason.

Scranton, a former member of the Freedom Conference before joining the new Landmark Conference this season, saw its three-game winning streak come to an end as it fell to 7-9-1.

The win was the second for Delaware Valley in the all-time series with the Lady Royals and the second straight at home including a 2-1 victory in 2005 that put the Aggies in the conference playoffs.

Dauber opened the scoring with an unassisted tally just 16:12 into the contest. It stayed that way until there was 2:41 to go before the intermission when Nicki Martini took a pass from Emily Perryman and beat Scranton goalkeeper Jackie Colley for her third goal of the year.

Dauber made it 3-0 with 3:12 remaining when Perryman set the junior up for her team-best 15th goal of the season. Dauber now has 81 career points and is just three behind 2003 graduate Tara Corkery for third place on the Aggie all-time scoring list.

Meanwhile, Bower notched her fourth shutout of the season. Eight of the sophomore's 10 saves came in the first half as the Lady Royals held a 9-4 advantage in shots for the stanza and finished the game with a 13-9 advantage. Colley and Caitlin Byrne combined for three saves in the loss.
