Delaware Valley College 1, Philadelphia Biblical Univ. 0

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Nicki Martini scored the lone goal of the game with 22 minutes remaining as Delaware Valley College blanked visiting Philadelphia Biblical University, 1-0, in a non-conference game.

The win was the second straight for the Aggies, who improved to 4-6 on the season. It was also career win number 99 for head coach Kevin Doherty. He will get his first shot at the 100-victory milestone on Saturday, September 29 when the team hosts Washington College. The Crimson Eagles fell to 2-6.

The game was scoreless for 78 minutes until Martini broke the deadlock when the junior took a crossing pass from Samantha Loeber and knocked the ball off goalkeeper Melissa Landis and into the net from seven yards out. It was Martini's second goal of the season.

The Aggie defense did the rest as they limited Philadelphia Biblical to five shots in the game, including just two in the second half.

Delaware Valley dominated play throughout the contest and fired 29 shots of its own. Landis kept the Crimson Eagles in the game by making 17 saves. Cortney Bower recorded two saves and her third shutout of the year for the Aggies.
